>Many of people have nicknames. Mea is Mea Mea, Peanut, Meams, and MiMi, depending on who’s talking to her at any given time. Most commonly, Mea Mea.
Mack on the other hand, has an unusual nickname.
It started with my friend’s son who was about 2 1/2. He could say Mack. It’s pretty easy. Spitting out Mackenzie on the other hand, is kind of hard. Then again, he was a total stinker. Or I should say, is a total stinker. Except at 14 now, maybe he’s moved on to other words to describe him. So he actually could say Mackenzie, but because he was 2 1/2, and a stinker, he would tease her just like she would tease him.
So she would say, “Say, Mackenzie…”
and he would say, “Mack ….”

And the nickname stuck like glue.
She is still called this by everyone. I would accidentally let it slip when her friends would be over, and then they would all know. This was totally mortifying when she was in Junior High, and in the first couple of years of High School. I think by the time that Mea came around, and she was calling her the same nickname, she was over it.
Now, she doesn’t cringe when she’s called her nickname. She tells the story, and grins. Really, what can you do? A nickname like that is just going to be stuck like glue.
