A Great Day…

So far today, has been a great day.  First thing this morning, I found out that my office passed its annual surprise audit, with flying colors.  I wasn’t really too worried about is, but until you get those results, you are kind of on pins and needles.  So we are officially done for one more year.

I went today to register Mea for Kindergarten.  I was a little sad about it.  Regular school is a big deal.  She is so excited, and I know that she is more than ready.  So since she is going to her school under open enrollment, although they had her down as coming to that school, they didn’t have a packet made up for me and registration was a bit of a cluster.  I was prepared, I had everything I needed and then some.  It’s not my first rodeo.

Then after everything was said and done for that, they told me who her teacher is going to be for next year.  I couldn’t be more thrilled.  Her preschool teacher Mrs. Maureen moved up to Kindergarten, and she will be Mea’s teacher again this year!  We love, love, love Mrs. Maureen.  She is the best.  She also really loved my Mea, so it makes me wonder if she requested to have her in her class.

So, I think that the big Kindergarten anxiety show should be completely over.  With Mea knowing and loving Mrs. M so much, she is just going to be even more excited then she already is, to head back to school.  She has her lunch number memorized, she has already picked out which lunch box and backpack she wants, (we’ll be going on our annual school supplies shopping trip with Nana sometime this week.)

Tonight, Mea starts swimming lessons.  For the next two weeks, I will be insane.  Swimming lessons are Monday through Thursday, 6:30-7, clear on the total opposite side of town, it’s about a 30-40 minute drive.  The only day that is going to be super evil will be those Thursdays, when we have gymnastics from 4:45 to 5:45, and then the swimming lessons.  I have a gut feeling that Mea will be eating some McDonald’s, in the car on Thursdays for the next couple of weeks.

Yesterday, for my Mack’s birthday, we went out for pizza with the whole pile of family.  My sister, BIL, and the girls, Mom and Dad, and Mack’s boyfriend were all there.  The restaurant we went to, has a Sunday special, with a large pizza, appetizers, soda’s and a magic show for $25 bucks.  So much food, and so cheap.  The little kids really enjoyed the magic show, and didn’t even notice the wait for our deep dish pizza’s.  Everyone had a lot of fun.

Mea had her “Mack is leaving” meltdown when we got home, and was hysterical.  I think that of anyone, Mea has had the hardest time with Mack going off to college.  Poor girl.  I just don’t know what else to do to help her understand.  It makes her so sad when Mack has to go back to Yellow State City.

What a great transition between pre-k and kindergarten for Mea! So much less to be worried about. That’s great.

How awesome that it’s the same teacher. That will make life so great and a much easier transition for Mea!!… and maybe for Kelly too. You know what to expect.
